Piastri Extends Championship Lead Over Norris Following the Dutch GP

Sprint to Glory

Oscar Piastri delivered a flawless performance. Starting from pole, he led every lap of the Dutch Grand Prix, achieving his first career Grand Chelem — securing pole position, fastest lap, and leading every lap en route to victory.

Nightmare for Lando Norris

Lando Norris was in prime position to reduce the championship deficit when his McLaren began emitting smoke with just under ten laps remaining. Forced to pull off, Norris’s retirement was heartbreakingly dramatic: from second place and mere seconds behind Piastri, he slipped away from contention and handed a colossal trophy to his teammate.

Podium Shake-Up

Max Verstappen delighted the home fans by finishing second, while Racing Bulls rookie Isack Hadjar secured a remarkable maiden podium in third, marking his first F1 podium and Racing Bulls’ first top-three finish since 2021.

Championship Implications

With this commanding win, Piastri’s championship lead over Norris ballooned to a season-high 34 points, with only nine races remaining — a lead Norris now admits will be difficult to chase down.

Piastri, ever composed, acknowledged the advantage but downplayed title talk, insisting there's still a “long way to go” in the season.
